The key to the strong vitality and significant superiority of China’s popular assembly system lies in its deep roots among the people. In order to better enable NPC MPs to maintain close ties with the people and make full use of their abilities in the discharge of their duties, the NPC Standing Committee has taken many measures to facilitate their work. , including creating platforms for the performance of their duties, ensuring smooth channels for the expression of public opinion, and improving the close communication mechanism between NPC MPs and the people.

China has more than 220,000 such contact points, which take various forms, such as liaison office, contact station, activity center and online communication platform, and mainly cover all counties and sub-districts of the country. They ensure that Chinese legislators are deeply rooted in the people and the grassroots and establish closer ties with the people.

Providing training sessions and learning platforms is an important way to ensure that the competence of legislators evolves over time.

Over the past year, the NPC Standing Committee has conducted three offline and three online training sessions for legislators on the knowledge and skills they care about and need for the execution of their functions, which involved 4,618 participants.

Taking full advantage of the NPC online college, the NPC Standing Committee has produced and released videos of over 120 online courses for legislators, which have been viewed over 1.4 million times.
