CK Ray Recreation Center and Aquatic Center are offering 10% off all four and 12 month memberships purchased through this Friday. Membership types include individual members, households, and seniors. Fun Quest Winter Vacation Camp

Camp Fun Quest Winter Break Camp is kid-approved and packed with fun for kids from Kindergarten to Grade 6. The adventure takes place at the Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center during the CISD winter break. Fun Quest is under the close supervision of qualified Fun Quest staff (10: 1 camper / staff ratio). Rainbow trout stockings

Texas Parks and Wildlife will make the first delivery of Rainbow Trout to the Pond at Carl Barton, Jr. Park on January 5. A second seeding date will be on February 3. Approximately 2,500 trout will be stocked in 2022. Anglers under 17 are not required to have a fishing license. There is no size limit and the daily bag limit is five trout. Barton Park Pond is classified as a community fishing lake and therefore anglers can fish with no more than two rods. Access for disabled people is available. The park’s opening hours are day until dusk. Additional information is available on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department home page at www.tpwd.texas.gov. The Town of Conroe invites everyone for family fun while fishing at Carl Barton Jr. Park located at 2500 S. Conroe United Youth Soccer League

Sign up for Conroe United’s Spring Soccer Season for boys and girls ages 4-13. The cost is $ 30 for residents of Conroe and $ 37 for non-residents. The registration deadline is January 21. The league will focus on skill development, fun and fair play. All games will be played on Saturdays at Carl Barton, Jr. Park. Teams will train once a week for younger players and have the option of a second weekly training for older players. The season will have 8 games. Jerseys will be provided, players must provide their own shorts, socks and shin guards. All coaches must pass a background check and attend a coaches training and coaches meeting. All players except 4 and 5 year olds are required to attend a skills assessment to help staff create fair teams on January 29. Youth dance

Youth dance registrations are now open for Spring Session I classes at the CK Ray Recreation Center. Tap, ballet and jazz programs offer students aged 18 months to 16 years the opportunity to experience dance for the first time or to continue to hone their skills. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday at various times. The registration fee is $ 65 for residents of the Town of Conroe and $ 81 for non-residents. Gymnastic

Youth gymnastics registration is now open for Spring Session I classes at the CK Ray Recreation Center. Gymnastics classes are fun and a great way to improve a child’s coordination, flexibility, and strength. Beginner courses are offered from 3 years old and advanced courses up to 11 years old. Classes are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. The registration fee is $ 60 for residents of the Town of Conroe and $ 75 for non-residents for the six-week session. Sign up for the spring season of Conroe Youth Flag Football for boys and girls ages 6-13. Your child will have fun playing flag football by developing speed, skill and agility. The cost is $ 30 for residents of Conroe and $ 37 for non-residents. The registration deadline is January 25. All teams will train and play matches weekly at Carl Barton, Jr. Park. A match jersey will be provided for the 8 game season. Volunteer opportunities are available for coaches, assistant coaches and team parents. Coaches must pass a background check and attend a coaches training and meeting. Mandatory player evaluation on January 29. Daddy Daughter Dancing

Fathers and daughters will enjoy an enchanted evening of dinner, dancing, photo keepsakes, prizes and more. The annual Daddy Daughter Dance will take place on Saturday, February 26 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Magnolia Event Center. The dance is for girls from 4 years old. Senior dances

Join in the fun at the senior dances. Couples and singles are welcome at these weekly dances featuring groups from Country & Western to Golden Oldies. Line dances and mixers involve everyone. The dances are held on Friday evenings at the Conroe Town Activity Center, 1204 Candy Cane Lane. The cost is $ 5 per person at the door. Doors open at 5.30 p.m., dancing begins at 6.30 p.m. and ends at 9.30 p.m. The next groups are Jem Dandy (January 7), Glenn Lenderman (January 14), Texas Hold’em (January 21) and Grateful Geezers (January 28). The Conroe Senior Center offers camaraderie and fun through a variety of activities for active adults 55 and older. Bingo, cards and dominoes, painting, crafts, movies, holiday celebrations, guest speakers, and other special activities are all a part of each week. Connect with friends, socialize and stay connected to the community. The center is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and lunch is served daily.
