Sports activities called vital to boost morale and performance of police personnel – Latest News – The Nation

LAHORE – The Inspector General (IG) of the National Roads and Highways Police (NHMP), Inam Ghani, said on Friday that sports activities play a vital role in boosting the morale and performance of police personnel. Addressing the closing ceremony of the 11th Annual NHMP Sports Festival 2022 at the NHMP Training College, Sheikhupura, he said sports played a pivotal role in aligning the human spirit in the right direction. The IG said the NHMP is known to be a courteous, honest and helping force, adding that human resource development can contribute significantly to the success of any organization. He said sports activities always develop healthy competition within organizations, adding that such activities would also help ensure an environment of tolerance, teamwork and striving for success. Inam Ghani urged the officers to bring the spirit to the field to better serve the department while appreciating the efforts of Commandant Training College DIG Mehboob Aslam in organizing the sports festival in a proper manner. NH&MP IG congratulated North Zone and DIG Mahboob Aslam Commanders Training College for being a champion zone in the 11th Sports Festival 2022.

The Commandant of the Training College said that sports activities are essential to boost the morale of any force, so he would try to organize different sporting events in addition to the annual festival.

During the week-long sports festival, eight teams from different areas competed in cricket, football, tug of war, basketball, volleyball, shooting, shot put, javelin throwing, chess, table tennis, badminton and athletics. Training College Sheikhupura won the title of best area by winning 14 gold medals. The varsity tug of war team went undefeated throughout the festival winning the final against Motorway Central 2.

The IG distributed prizes among the winning teams and players at the end of the event and presented the Champions Trophy to Training College.

Additional IG Khalid Mahmood, Additional IG Inksar Khan Afghan, DIG Motorways Dr Mazher ul Haq Kakakhail, DIG Malik Yousaf, SSP Hashmat Kamal, Sector Commanders and other senior police officers were also present .
